In 2009, Coach Liz discovered CrossFit through a coach she met to discuss nutrition. This coach described CrossFit to her and said, “You should come to try it out sometime.” After taking her up on her offer, Coach Liz fell in love with CrossFit, what it stands for, and the community. In 2013, Coach Liz received her CF Level 1. Shortly after passing, she found CrossFit Unchained (CFUN). “Coach Alisia and Coach Art had just opened CFUN that summer. I asked about shadowing as a coach, and they both welcomed me with open arms and without question. I have learned so much from them in my CrossFit journey as an athlete and a Coach. Because of the passion they have for helping others and CF is contagious, I have been with them ever since! At CrossFit Unchained, we are FAMILY!” |
What are some of your health/fitness accomplishments?
“Fitness sparked an interest later in my life, so just being able to continue to get out of my comfort zone is an accomplishment. I always tell people that I’m proud of doing things in my 40s that I never did or would have done in my 20s. As I get older, I want to be able to continue to move…FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT.”
What’s your passion?
“Passionate about fitness in general, I love working with athletes who are new to CrossFit or who are intimidated by it. Any CrossFit WOD can be modified and tailored to each athlete depending on mobility, experience, or ailments. Also, as a wife to a BCSO Sergeant, and a mom to a Police Officer, who is an Army Veteran, I am passionate about our First Responders and Military. Where would we be without them?”
Fave WOD/Movement
"Any WOD that has deadlifts is my favorite! I LOVE deadlifts, especially when that posterior chain is barking back at me!"
Fave Workout Song/Tunes
"When I work out, I love listening to old school Rap from the Tupac era. These songs get me through my runs too!"
